NEW YORK POLICE PRECINCT - DAY There is a buzz of activity inside a Police Precinct. POLICE OFFICERS mill about, phones RING, OFFENDERS are being escorted through the hallways. Suddenly, LEX, Black in his 20’s, a rough and tough criminal, breaks free from custody and blots out of a room. He CRASHES into a wall as he scrambles to run away. UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICERS run out of the room after Lex. UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICER (yells) Come back here asshole! LEX (yells) Eat shit! Lex runs frantically down the hall knocking OTHER POLICE OFFICERS out of his way. LEX (screams) Ahhhh!!!! A COP jumps out and stands in Lex’s way. They collide and fall to the floor. As they wrestle, Lex manages to free the COPS gun out of its holster then gets to his feet. Lex beams proudly as he swings the weapon around at everyone. LEX Stay away from me! Back off!! (screams) Back off!! The UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICER stops in his tracks and raises his hands. The COP on the floor slowly gets to his feet and raises his hands. UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICER Easy. Don’t do anything stupid, stupid. All action in the Precinct freezes as EVERYONE STOPS and watches Lex. He looks around and spots an EXIT. Nervously scanning his surroundings Lex tries to calculate his chances of escaping, just then DETECTIVE PRESTON LEWIS pops his head out of his office and spots Lex. Preston slowly steps out into the hallway towards Lex. Agitated, Lex quickly swings the gun toward Preston. PRESTON Give it up, pal. LEX Back off! Lex takes his eyes off of Preston to glance over at the Exit and just as he does Preston darts towards him. Lex quickly turns and bolts through the Exit door. EXT. ALLEY NY PRECINCT - DAY Lex bursts through the Exit Door
