Abstract
Learning motivation reflects learners’ learning needs from the point of psychology, it drives learner’s learning activity toward the certain goal. The writer investigated first-year students’ motive of English learning in Nanzhao No.1 Senior High School. Through the form of questionnaire, the purpose is to find out the gap among the students in learning English and the factors affecting the students’ motive in English learning. The thesis discussed some personal views on the results of investigation of first-year students’ motive in English learning, as well as explored some teaching methods on how to stimulate students’ interest in the process of teaching, teach the students scientific ways of study to strengthen their learning motive and improve their learning ability.

摘 要
学习动机从心理上反映了学习者的学习需要,它驱使学习者的学习活动朝着一定的目标前进。笔者以问卷的形式,通过调查新平一中高一年级学生的英语学习动机,旨在从中找出学生间在学习英语时存在的差距及影响学生英语学习动机的因素。本文根据调查结果就高一学生的学习动机谈几点个人认识,并探讨一些在教学过程中激发学生英语学习兴趣的途径,教学生一些科学的学习方法,从而强化学生的学习动机,提高学习能力。
