Design for Activities in the English Teaching Abstract: This paper offers a discussion on the necessity of the activity teaching. With the development of the society, competition becomes more intense. English as the second language is popular with us. But it is difficult for most of students to learn English well, because English has its own grammar and origin, and a word has different meaning in different situational context. The students are hardly to learn them by heart or use them flexibly. They are weary to learn English in a dull way and are eager to study in an active atmosphere. So it is effective for the teacher to use the activities in English teaching. For it can arouse students’ learning interest and bring students’ learning enthusiasm into studying. Besides, the students are easy to acquire knowledge and improve their abilities in the suitable activities.
