Nelsonb(a) Randall Physics Laboratory, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1120, USA(b) Department of Physics 1560, University of Washington, Seattle, WA 98195-1560, USA AbstractWe discuss the phenomenology of a class of supersymmetric models in which some of the quark and leptonsuperelds are an integral part of a dynamical supersymmetry breaking sector. The corresponding squarksand sleptons are much heavier than any other superpartners, and could naturally have masses as high as 40 TeV. We discuss a general set of conditions for acceptable avor-changing neutral currents and naturalelectroweak symmetry breaking, and identify two particularly interesting new classes of theories. We discusshow phenomenological signatures of such multi-scale models at the CERN LEP II and Fermilab Tevatroncolliders could signicantly dier from previously considered scenarios. In particular, we give experimentalsignals which could be present if the left-handed selectron is much lighter than the right-handed one. e-mail: ambros@,anelson@ A compelling solution to the gauge hierarchy problem is that the world is supersymmetric atshort distances. Testing this hypothesis directly requires a discovery of the superpartners, whichrequires understanding their experimental signatures, which in turn depend on the supersymmetricspectrum. However we still lack a standard model of supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking, and ageneral phenomenological approach for SUSY breaking (SSB) introduces an extravagant numberof free parameters.
