I. 词语辨析 1. throughout / all through / all over throughout：整个……，后面既可接时间，又可接地点。 e.g. He lived a simple life throughout / all through his life. People throughout / all over the country cheered at the news. all through：整个、在……中始终，后接时间。 e.g. She lay awake all through the night. He stayed indoors all through the week. all over：整个、遍及……，后接地点。 e.g. I have friends all over China. The news is known all over the city. 2. confusing / puzzling confusing：指两个或以上的事物因有相似之处而“令人混淆、模糊不清、难以理解”，(difficult to understand, not clear) e.g. The constructions on the box are very confusing. This is a confusing word because it has two opposite meanings. puzzling：指对某些事物的出处、来龙去脉、或如何解决感到棘手、为难。 e.g. For me, some English words are confusing, but not puzzling.
