;Content; The Mexican gray wolf , also known as the lobo, is a subspecies of gray wolf native to the Sierra Madre(马德雷山脉) and the surrounding area of western Mexico, though its range once included the southeastern United States. It is distinguished by its smaller, narrower skull and its darker pelt(皮毛), which is yellowish-gray and heavily clouded with black over the back and tail. As the smallest subspecies of gray wolf, the Mexican gray wolf varies in size from 50 to 64 inches long (nose to tail), 24 to 32 inches shoulder height, and weighs from 65 to 85 pounds. Its ancestors were likely the first gray wolves to enter North America, as indicated by its southern range and basal physical and genetic characteristics.;Diet; Mexican gray wolves are very social animals. They live in packs, which are complex social structures that include the breeding adult pair (the alpha male and female) and their offspring（后代）.
