Methods: type 2 diabetes with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) patients 55 patients were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group (n = 30) joined with ALA 600 mg in 250 mL normal saline intravenous infusion, day 1 continuous 14 d; the control group (n = 22) by adding methylcobalamin physiological 500g 100 mL of saline infusion, day 1 assessment of two consecutive 14 d. Before treatment, the treatment of neurological symptoms on day 15 to record all adverse events to determine their correlation with the drug. Results: After mecobalamin day 15 in patients with neurological symptoms had improved, TSS mean improvement of 3.62 points (P lt;0.01). ALA 15 days after treatment in patients with neurological symptoms have improved, TSS mean improvement of 3.57 points (P lt;0.01). TSS treatment group changes in the scores and total scores compared with the control group, no significant difference between the two groups during treatment were not significant adverse reactions occurred. Conclusion: ALA can alleviate diabetic peripheral neuropathy in patients with neurological symptoms, its efficacy is similar with methylcobalamin , and has good security.
