Methods in Xi’an City Hospital and suburban hospitals collected a total of 185 samples, RT PCR detection of virus nucleic acid samples; collecting DNA positive EV71 cases of acute blood samples, ELISA detected IgM antibodies in serum; cell culture isolated EV71, amplification Qi VP1 area, sequencing and with the representative strains of each serotype EV71 sequence alignment, the evolution in. results in 185 samples, 156 were detected enterovirus nucleic acid (84.32%), 72.4% for the EV71, 17.3% for the Coxsackievirus A16 (CA16); 63 were DNA positive acute EV71 serum samples of patients, 45 were positive for EV71 IgM antibodies (71.43%); isolated 12 strains of EV71 were C4 subtypes. Conclusion foot in Xi’an in 2009 EV71-mouth disease to the main pathogen, and is mainly C4 subtype; ELISA method can be used for early diagnosis of EV71 infection. EV71 IgM antibody of 63 serum samples from confirmed EV71 infected patients was assayed. Isolated EV71 strains VP1s were sequenced and phyletic ev
