Cough variant asthma (CVA) is a special type of asthma, cough is the only or the main clinical manifestations, chronic persistent cough is one of the reasons because of its lack of typical symptoms of breathing is often misdiagnosed in the past five years admitted to our hospital ward with cough variant asthma in 53 cases, now its characteristics, diagnosis and treatment were analyzed as follows: 1 Materials and Methods 1.1 General Information January 2003 - February 2007 were treated in hospital ward with cough variant asthma in 53 cases, 34 males, 19 females; aged 16 to 51 years, mean 34 years; duration of 2 months to 4 years, an average of 8 months; them, 40 patients had personal history of allergies, 37 cases occur in spring and autumn, 22 patients with perennial disease. 1.2 The main clinical manifestations and signs All the cases are the main symptoms of chronic dry cough, which occurred in the early morning and evening, 43 cases (80%), by the cold, cold air, smoke-induced in 36 cases (68%), all cases of lung auscultation breath sounds coarse, no heavy breathing beeps. 1.3 Laboratory and equipment inspection X-ray or two normal lung markings, eosinophil count of 7% to 12%, lung airway resistance
