Methods 36 rats were randomly divided into 3 groups (n = 12): normal control group (control group), alcoholic liver disease group (model group), alcoholic liver disease astragalus treatment group (treatment group ). Observed in each group liver tissue expression of ICAM  1 Morphological changes of liver tissue. The results of alcoholic liver disease model group, liver tissue ICAM-1 expression was significantly enhanced with the normal control group, significant difference (P lt;0.01); alcoholic liver disease astragalus treatment group and alcoholic liver disease model group liver tissue ICAM  1 expression was significantly reduced (P lt;0.01), liver tissue damage mitigation (P lt;0.01). Conclusion astragalus on preventive and therapeutic effects of alcoholic liver diseases, its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of liver cell ICAM  1 in the expression.
