METHODS: With prepared GICA apparatus and colloidal gold which were coupled with SPA, the goldSPA conjugate reacted with human IgG in serum and migrated along the nitrocellose strip on which the branched multiple antigenic peptide of human cytomlegalovirus was immobilized. If the serum contained antiHCMV IgG, there would be a red line on the strip where the branched multiple antigenic peptide of human cytomlegalovirus were immobilized. RESULTS: A total of 120 sera were detected for antiHCMV IgG by GICA and ELISA. The sensitivity and specificity of GICA were 97.9% and 87.5%. The corresponding rate of both tests was 95.8%. CONCLUSION: GICA is a sensitive, specific, simple and rapid assay for detecting antiHCMVIgG in sera.
