Collected 16 cases of diabetes in patients with senile cataract eye anterior lens capsule epithelium were divided into two groups, 15 cases for HE staining, optical microscopy, and 1 producer electron microscopy; the control group to take 16 cases of senile cataract eye lens anterior capsule epithelium were divided into 3 groups, 15 cases for HE staining, optical microscopy, and 1 producer electron microscope. Results (1) diabetic patients with senile cataract group of morphological changes of lens epithelial cells clearly obvious apoptosis and abnormal cell proliferation. (2) control group, group of age-related cataract lens epithelial cells and cell morphological changes of apoptosis, abnormal proliferation occurs is not obvious. Conclusion Compared with age-related cataract: diabetes in elderly patients with anterior lens capsule epithelial cell apoptosis in a high probability, there are a large number of cell proliferation. Anterior lens capsule epithelial cell apoptosis in patients with diabetes may be the morphological basis for the formation of aged-impaired.
