Methods Retrospective analysis of 17 cases of a total of 20 patients with congenital megaureter side of the clinical data, of which 9 cases the left, right in 5 cases, bilateral in 3 cases. Surgical treatment of 14 patients with 17 sides, including ureterovesical anastomosis of ureter cut 13 sides in 10 cases, kidney ureter resection in 2 cases two sides, ureter folding two cases of ureterovesical anastomosis in 2 cases, 3 cases of three sides endoscopic dilation. Results Follow-up 1-5 years (average 3 years), endoscopic expansion in 3 cases, 1 case of clinical symptoms in patients with ease, ureter expansion are reduced, two cases of patients with symptom improvement was not obvious, hydronephrosis, ureter expansion had no significant mitigation; 14 cases of surgical patients, 10 patients were followed up, ureter cut, ureter bladder anastomosis in seven cases of patients showed significantly reduced expansion of operated side ureter, 1 patient had no significant hydronephrosis reduced, but the symptoms were markedly improved, 2 cases of renal ureteral resection OK B-mode ultrasound showed compensatory increase in contralateral kidney; all patients with renal function tests were normal; ureteral obstruction functional ring section pathological examinations showed muscle hypertrophy, a decrease of 9 lateral longitudinal muscles, in which three sides with full-thickness wall inflammatory changes in collagen tissue 7 side wall, a lateral longitudinal muscle hyperplasia. Conclusion MRU examination in the diagnosis of congenital megaureter has important significance; ureteral cutting plastic plus anti-reflux anastomosis of ureter and bladder is the treatment of choice for congenital megaureter surgery.
