Methods A retrospective analysis using a modified posterior knee incision open reduction and cannulated screw placement in the treatment of posterior cruciate ligament tibial avulsion fractures in 19 cases. Results The surgery went smoothly, no infection during hospitalization and lower extremity deep vein thrombosis and other complications of .19 cases were outpatient review followed up for 6 to 24 months, an average of 9 months, the patients were followed after all I fracture healing, knee activity were normal, Lysholm score improved from an average of 65.4 points improved to an average of 96.6 points the last follow-up. Conclusion The modified posterior incision for knee posterior cruciate ligament tibial avulsion fracture is simple, safe surgical approach, can fully reveal the fracture area, the effective reduction of the fracture fixed. [Keywords:] tibial fractures; cruciate ligament; knee; fixation [Abstract] Objective To evaluate the results of treatment of tibial avulsion fracture of the posterior cruciate ligament by modified posterior approach.Methods Totally 19 cases of tibial avulsion fracture of the posterior cruciate ligament were retrospectively analyzed.Results Surgical operation was achieved in all cases, without infection and deep venous thrombosis of lower limbs.The follow up period ranged from 6 months to 24 months (average 9 months) in all cases.All fractures healed in I period.Lysholm score reached 96.6 from preoperative 65.4.Conclusion Treatment of tibial avulsion fracture of the posterior cruciate ligament by modified posterior approach is simple and safe, which has advantages of sufficient exposure of the fracture area and effective reduction and fixation.
