microRNA role in the mechanism of alcohol toxicity and protective mechanism of folic acid

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 5 microRNA role in the mechanism of alcohol toxicity and protective mechanism of folic acid [Keywords:] microRNA mechanisms of alcohol toxicity folic acid protection MicroRNAs (miRNAs) is a nucleotide consisting of 22 small non-coding RNAs, targeted combination of sequence-specific and regulate the expression of mRNAs. MiRNAs regulate a wide range of target genes involved in development, cell proliferation, apoptosis , and cancer genes. Although recent studies confirmed miRNAs in the differentiation of tissues and organs play an important role, but miRNAs associated with birth defects little studied. miRNAs such as exposure to environmental risk factors during pregnancy can cause birth defects. alcohol cause human multi-organ damage, ethanol exposure during pregnancy can cause fetal alcohol syndrome and alcohol-related neurodevelopmental disorder. However, these molecular mechanisms of disease pathology and not yet fully elucidated, yet no studies related to miRNA and the relationship between in vivo toxicity of ethanol. experimental study Folic acid can to some extent confirmed by antagonism of ethanol-induced toxicity. Although proteome analysis showed that folic acid-reactive protein involved in regulating ethanol energy production, signaling pathways and protein translation, it remains unclear the exact protective mechanism of folic acid. In this study, neurodevelopmental toxicity of ethanol in mouse models of ethanol exposure during pregnancy on the fetal rat brain gene expression patterns of miRNA, and cultured mouse embryos using whole embryo research miRNA and its target gene expression, but also observed in vitro complement folic acid for alcohol-induced toxicity of embryos and the miRNA and its target genes. The results showed that pre-pregnancy fetal ethanol exposure not only caused growth delay, microcephaly, and no eye abnormalities such as intrauterine embryo toxicity, but also harm learning and memory ability offs
