Methods acid dye colorimetry to bromocresol green buffer as alkaloid reagent to measure the sample solution at 417 nm wavelength of the absorption. The results of reference substance concentration of TMP in the 0.031 ~ 0.153 mg / mL and the absorbance within the framework of a good linear relationship, r = 0.9998. The average recovery was 100.95%, RSD of 1.75%. Precision and good stability. Conclusion acid dye colorimetry is sensitive, rapid, accurate and can be used for the effective parts of Naomaitong determination of total alkaloids. The average recovery of ligustrazine was 100.95%, RSD = 1.75%. Conclusion The method is accurate, sensitive, and can be applied to determine total alkaloid in Nao Mai Tong recipe.
