 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 14 Non-surgical treatment of severe acute pancreatitis in the overall care Severe acute pancreatitis (Severe acute pancreatitis, SAP) refers to the acute pancreatitis associated with organ dysfunction, or there necrosis, abscess or pseudocyst, and other local complications, or both [1]. It is a common and dangerous of the acute abdomen, its condition ferocious, rapid development, complications and high mortality rate. As the 20th century, 90 years after the development of ICU, its treatment is based on recovery, anti-inflammatory, inhibition of enzymes and nutrition in a full range of non-surgical treatment, based on the simultaneous implementation of infection to necrosis as the indication of surgery. SAP’s early non-surgical treatment and care are inseparable, to care more demanding. Our department from January 1998 to May 2001 of non-surgical treatment of SAP patients with 20 cases. Now on care and are described below. A clinical data 20 cases of SAP patients, 12 males and 8 females, average age of 43 (23 ~ 75) years old. Treatment: fasting, continuous gastrointestinal decompression, maintenance of water and electrolyte balance, antibiotic against infection, inhibit gastric juice, pancreatic juice secretion, microcirculation, nutritional support, taking traditional Chinese medicine Qing Yi Tang, strengthening the function of i
