Normal adult cats under different light adaptation conditions changes in flash ERG

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 5 Normal adult cats under different light adaptation conditions changes in flash ERG Author: Liang Qiu Li Bing Bing Xin Huang Hou Bin Secretary [Abstract] of normal adult cats, under different light adaptation conditions, flash ERG (flash electroretinogram, F-ERG) changes in the maximum response and to establish normal ranges for relevant research to provide a less invasive and useful and feasible experimental method and relevant basis. Methods: 37 adult cats, dark-adapted state of general anesthesia, after 20min to open background light timing, in the light adaptation 5, 15, 30, 60s; 3, 5, 10, 20, 30min with the same intensity of light stimulation, acquisition and record and analysis of different light adaptation time point F-ERG in a, b-wave peak latency and amplitude, and delineate a, b-wave amplitude curve. Results: The time record of success in different light adaptation to a typical and reproducible F-ERG waveform. The analysis observed in a different light adaptation time, a, b-wave latency were no significant differences, b-wave amplitude is more obvious, light adaptation recorded 5min after the F-ERG, b-wave amplitude value of the peak. Conclusion: The method for adult cats light adaptation detection of F-ERG provides a less traumatic and has a good repeatability of the experimental methods and experimental frame of reference. [Keywords:] domestic cats; light adaptation; ERG Flash electroretinogram for various photopic adaptation duration of adult cats Abstract AIM: To investigate the change of maximum response of flash electroretinogram (F-ERG) for various photopic adaptation duration and to found the range of normal value so as to provide evidence for corresponding experimental researches. METHODS: The latencies and amplitudes of wave a and b of F-ERG were recorded and analyzed in 20 cats for photopic adaptation duration of 5, 15, 30, 60 seconds; 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 minutes under standard stimulating condition.
