 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 13 Nosocomial urinary tract infection in systemic lupus erythematosus related risk factors Keywords: Systemic lupus erythematosus; Hospital infection; urinary tract; risk factors Abstract: To explore the systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with urinary tract infection in hospital-related risk factors, a retrospective analysis of January 2000 ~ December 2004 in a hospital 316 cases of hospitalized patients with SLE. The results showed that, SLE patients in the hospital a total of 28 cases of urinary tract infection (8.86%), infection with Gram-negative bacteria, fungi (75.00%). Prednisone dosage ofgt; 10mg group was significantly higher than the incidence of urinary tract infections dosage of ≤ 10 mg steroid group (29.68% vs 9.86%, P lt;0.01). Combined application of immunosuppressive agents in patients with urinary tract infection was significantly higher than that with the hormone group (33.56% vs 13.25%, P lt;0.01). Indwelling catheter in patients with urinary tract infections were significantly increased. In addition, the longer length of stay, the number of organs involving the more prone to urinary tract infections. Urinary tract infection group, C-reactive protein (CRP) levels were significantly higher than non-infected group (P lt;0.01). Therefore, SLE patients with urinary tract infection is a common form of nosocomial infection, SLE patients with urinary tract infection in hospital-related risk factors for sex, hospitalization days, the application of hormones and immunosuppressive agents, whether indwelling catheter, involving dirty the number of such devices. CRP is a distinction between urinary tract infection in SLE whether there has been a useful indicator.
