The remaining 6 patients after 1 week still have mild pain, the pain again after the injection, no further referral, should be recovered. Conclusion For non-trauma or knee surgery spontaneous patellar branch of saphenous nerve neuralgia, the use of prednisolone plus local anesthetic injection of nerve piercing the deep fascia at the treatment, satisfactory results can be obtained, after first choice of treatment. Methods Totally 16 cases of diagnosed infrapatellar branch neuralgia of the saphenous nerve were collected in our outpatient department from Oct.2001 to Sep.2009. All the patients were treated with injection of prednisolone plus local anesthetics to where the nerve is passing through. Results Pain was abolished in all patients several minutes after the injection. Ten cases recovered one week later and never relapsed again. The other six cases experienced mild degree pain one week later and got recovered after another injection. They probably recovered soon and never made a return.
