Methods 60 patients with genital warts were randomized into treatment group and control group, with 30 patients in each group. The patients in the treatment groups were treated with the decoction of gromwell root. The expression of Bcl 2, survivin and VEGF from skin lesions of 30 patients with genital warts were detected by immunohistochemistry, the lesions were taken from the same site of the patients before and after the treatment with decoction of gromwell root. The therapeutic effects and follow up results of the patients in the two groups were also compared. Results After the treatment, the expressions of Bcl 2 and surviving, VEGF from skin lesions after treatment were significantly lower than those before the treatment with the decoction of gromwell root (P lt;0.05).
