Pepper piperine in supercritical carbon dioxide extraction process optimization
[Abstract] Objective To study the pepper of piperine in supercritical carbon dioxide (SFE-CO2) extraction of optimum process conditions. Method of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) Determination of pepper alkali content in order to piperine in pepper yield and extract alkali content as an indicator, using the orthogonal experimental method for its SFE-CO2 process optimization, and comparison with the traditional extraction process . The results of the SFE-CO2 piperine optimum conditions for temperature 60 ℃ , pressure of 30MPa, entrainer amount of 1:0.5 (W / V), CO2 flow of 5.6 L * h-1, extraction time 2 h. Conclusion Compared with other methods, this method is high yield, high content of the short extraction time, solvent easy to recover and so on.

Abstract: ObjectiveTo study the optimum extraction parameters on piperine from Piper nigrum Linn. MethodsThe content of piperine in extract was determined by HPLC. With the content of piperine in extract and the extractive yeild of peperine as quality control criteria, the optimum conditions for supercritical CO2 fluid extraction (SFE-CO2), were investigated by orthogonal dasign, and the comparison methods among SFE-CO2, mixed solvent extraction, ethanol extraction and chloroform were conducted.ResultsThe optimum extraction parameters were as follows: temperature of 60 ℃ , pressure of 30MPa , entrainer (w / v) of 1:0.5, CO2 volume of 5.6 L / h and extraction time of 2 h.ConclusionThe method has the advantages of rapid and efficient extraction, good quality and no solvent residues in the extractors.
