[Methods] were used to SLCmRNA RT-PCR method, cytokeratin CK20 immunohistochemical staining, was detected by routine pathology from 2003 to 2006 among 35 cases of gastric cancer surgery in 523 patients with lymph nodes. [Results] 14 patients with gastric cancer in 63 lymph nodes by immunohistochemistry and routine histology did not confirm lymph node metastasis, while the expression of SLCmRNA decreased, suggesting the existence of occult metastasis. Micrometastases in patients with poor differentiation was higher than that in patients with well-differentiated. [Conclusion] SLCmRNA joint cytokeratin CK20 immunostaining and conventional histological examination can be more accurately found that lymph node metastases is beneficial to determine the prognosis of gastric cancer patients. [Methods] Five hundred and twenty-three lymph nodes removed from 35 cases with gastric cancer during 2003 to 2008 were examined by immunohistochemistry of cytokeratin and SLCmRNA RT-PCR. [Results] In 14 cases (63 lymph nodes) with gastric cancer, expression of SLCmRNA was reduced suggesting unconfirmed micrometastasis with immunohistochmical method and routine pathological method.
