Based ontherelationshipsbetweendi?erentvegetationtypesandwateryieldsinsevenwater- sheds,wefoundthatreductioninthetotalvegetation,forestandsubalpineconiferous forestcoverscouldcauseincreasinginsurfaceandsubsurfacewateryields,whilethe 3,1021–1043,2006 E?ectsofvegetation patternsonyieldsof water 5 Y.Liuetal. 10 wateryieldincreasedwiththealpineshrubandmeadowcoverincreasing,respectively.
