Asimpleandstability-indicatingliquidchromatographicmethodisdevelopedfortheanalysisofchloramphenicolanditsrelated compound2-amino-1-(4-nitrophenyl)propane-1,3-diolintwopharmaceuticalforms.LiquidchromatographywithaUVdetector at a wavelength of 278nm using a reversed phase C18 stationary phase has been employed in this study. Isocratic elution is employedusingamixtureofsodiumpentanesulfonatesolution(0.012M),acetonitrile,andglacialaceticacid(85:15:1,v/v).This newmethodisvalidatedinaccordancewithUSPrequirementsfornewmethodsforassaydetermination,whichincludeaccuracy, precision,speci?city,linearityandrange.Thismethodshowsenoughselectivity,sensitivity,accuracy,precision,andlinearityrange tosatisfyFederalDrugAdministration/InternationalConferenceonHarmonizationregulatoryrequirements.Thecurrentmethod demonstratesgoodlinearityovertherangeof0.04–0.16mg/mLofchloramphenicol.Theaccuracyofthemethodis100.0%witha relativestandarddeviationof0.1%.Theprecisionofthismethodre?ectedbyrelativestandarddeviationofreplicatesis0.1%.The methodissensitivewithadetectionlimitof0.005%forchloramphenicol.Therel
