Bioassay-guidedfractionationofthechloroformextractofByrsonimafagifolialeavesledtotheisolationofactiveantitubercular compoundsalkanedotriacontane(MinimalInhibitoryConcentration—MIC,62.5μgmL?1),triterpenoidsasbassicacid(MIC = 2.5μgmL?1), α-amyrin acetate (MIC = 62.5μgmL?1), a mixture of lupeol, α- and β-amyrin (MIC = 31.5μgmL?1) and a mixtureoflupeol,andacetatesofα-andβ-amyrin(MIC=31.5μgmL?1).Theantimycobacterialactivitywasdeterminedbythe MicroplateAlamarBlueAssay(MABA)andthestructuresofpromisingcompoundsweredeterminedbyspectroscopicanalysis.
