Interactionsofnucleotides(AMP,CMP)and1,2-diaminopropane(tn-1)or2-methyl-1,2-diaminopropane(tn-2)inmetal-free systemsaswellasinthesystemsincludingcopper(II)ionswerestudied.Thecompositionandoverallstabilityconstantsofthe complexesformedweredeterminedbythepotentiometricmethod,whereastheinteractioncentresandcoordinationsiteswere identi?edbyspectroscopicmethods.Itwasfoundthatphosphategroupsofnucleotidesandtheprotonatedaminegroupsof polyaminesarethecentresofinteraction.Thedi?erencesintheinteractionswiththepolyamineswhichactasmodelsofbiogenic aminesareimpactedbythepresenceoflateralchains(methylenegroups)intn-1andtn-2.IntheternarysystemswithCu(II) ions,theheteroligandcomplexesaremainlyoftheML···L’type,inwhichtheprotonatedpolyamineisengagedinnoncovalent interactionswiththeanchoringCu(II)-nucleotidecomplex.ThecomplexesformedintheCu/NMP)/tn-1systemaremorestable thanthoseformedinthesystemwithtn-2.Themodeofcoordinationinthecomplexisrealisedmainlythroughthephosphate groupsofthenucleotidewithinvolvementoftheendocyclicnitrogenatomsinamannerwhichdependsuponthesteric
