Higher Education and features of inquiry
[Abstract] Popularization of higher education is not just a number or proportion of the concept, but also because the quality of personnel training, and mass higher education reflected the characteristics, but also the cultivation of talent to adapt to China’s economic and social development. Thus, the solution due to expansion of college enrollment caused by a series of contradictions and problems, is to achieve mass higher education in China are facing an important issue.

In 2004, China’s higher education students in the total scale has reached 19 million people, accounting for the total number of school-age youth (18-22 years) and 19%. Education in accordance with well-known American sociologist, Professor Martin Trow’s theory, China has been “elite higher education” stage into the “mass higher education” stage, ahead of schedule to achieve our goal of popularizing higher education, higher education in China has been described tertiary level of moderately developed countries into the world. However, this is just a number on the concept but the standards and quality are a considerable gap. To truly achieve high ‘and so on popularization of education goals, we still have a long way to go.
