Methods:Participantswere445heroinabusersfromfourmethadoneclinicsinNorthernTaiwan.Fifty-oneofthe participantsweretestedtwicewithinatwo-weekperiodatadifferenthospitaltoexaminetest-retestreliability. Results:Three-factorsolutionusingprincipalcomponentanalysiswasidentifiedintheCCBQ:willpower, compulsivebehavior,andnegativecoping,accountingfor54.6%ofthevariance.Internalconsistencyanalysis indicatedthatthethreefactorshavestrongreliability,withCronbachalphasrangingfrom.81to.92.Thetest-retest ICCcoefficientis.80.Thetest-retestcoefficientsforthesubscaleswillpower,compulsivebehavior,andnegative copingare.76,.51,and.64,respectively.Overall,thedatashowthattheCCBQhasacceptablereliabilityand validity,demonstratingthatitcanbearesearchinstrumentforassessingheroincravingbeliefs.
