Using fluorescent speckle microscopy, we showed that, upon ROS stimulation, the F-actin retrograde flow is enhancedinthelamellipodium.Thiseventcoincideswithanincreaseofcofilinactivity,freebarbedendsformation,Arp2/3 recruitment,andERKactivityatthecelledge.Inaddition,weobservedanaccelerationoftheF-actinflowinthelamellaof ROS-stimulatedcells,whichcorrelateswithanenhancementofthecellcontractility.Thus,thisstudydemonstratesthatROS modulateboththelamellipodiumandthelamellanetworkstocontrolprotrusionefficiency.
