Abstract REP-LECOTOXproject-INCO-CT-2006-043559-REP-LECOTOXUNSPMF-Reinforcementofresearchpotentialof LaboratoryforEcotoxicology(LECOTOX)ofUniversityofNoviSadFacultyofSciencesfundedbyECFP6(2007- 2009)presentedacrucialmilestoneforLECOTOX,bothintermsofoverallresearchperformanceanditsvisibility andpresentationtointernationalscientificcommunity.TheprojectenabledupgradingandrenewalofST equipment,hiringnewyoungresearcherstoreinforcehumanresourcesanditfacilitatedextensivenetworking-via workshops,exchangeofscientificpersonnelandtrainingsofyoungscientistsinsomeofthefinestresearch institutionsintheEUinthefieldofenvironmentalresearch:HelmholtzCentreforEnvironmentalResearch-UFZ, Leipzig,Germany;SchoolofBioscience,UniversityofBirmingham,UKandRECETOX,MasarykUniversity,Brno,Czech Republic.TheprojectenabledLECOTOX,focusingmainlyontworesearchtopics,i.e.endocrinedisruption/ reproductivetoxicity,andidentificationandcharacterisationofaquatictoxicity,toformafunctionalcompetitive researchteamreadyforcombiningtranscriptomicswiththeestablishedconventionaltoxicitytestsandtraditional function-basedbiomarkers.LECOTOXbecamewell-equippedandexperiencedresearchgroupconfidentenoughto joinanyFPorotherwisefundedecotoxicologicalresearchprojectandnetwork. AboutLECOTOX-laboratoryforecotoxicologyat UNSPMF effects, suchascytochromeP450(CYP)enzymeinduc- tionandparametersandmarkersofoxidativestressand LECOTOX - Laboratory for Ecotoxicology at the early intoxication have been applied in assessment of Department of Biology and Ecology at University of freshwater ecosystems e.g. [17].
