Abstract Endocervicosisintheurinarybladderisararebenigncondition.Wepresentacaseina37-year-oldwomanwith classicalclinicalandpathologicalfeaturesofendocervicosis.Theunusualobservationofendocervical-likemucinous epitheliumincontinuitywiththeurotheliuminadditiontofullydevelopedendocervicosisprompted immunohistochemicalprofilingofthecaseusingantibodiestocytokeratins(AE1/AE3,CK19,CK7,CK5/6,CK20), HBME-1,estrogenreceptor(ER)andprogesteronereceptor(PR)toassesstherelationshipofthesurfacemucinous andendocervicosisglandularepithelia.Thesurfacemucinousepithelium,urotheliumandendocervicosisglands wereimmunopositiveforAE1/AE3,CK7andCK19whileCK20wasonlyexpressedbyfewurothelialumbrellacells. ThesurfacemucinousepitheliumwasCK5/6andHBME-1immunonegativebutshowedpresenceofERandPR. Thiswasincontrasttotheurothelium’sexpressionofCK5/6butnotERandPR.Incomparison,endocervicosis glandsexpressedHBME-1,unlikethesurfacemucinousepithelium.Theendocervicosisepitheliumalso demonstratedtheexpectedpresenceofERandPRandCK5/6immunonegativity.Theslightlydiffering immunohistochemicalphenotypesofthesurfacemucinousandmorphologicallysimilarendocervicosisglandular epitheliumisinterestingandrequiresfurtherclarificationtoitsactualnature.Thepatienthasremainedwelland withoutevidenceofdisease18-monthsfollowingtransurethralresectionofthelesion.
