Thegreatest similaritywasfoundbetweenG.gallusandtheegg-typebreedsofMediterraneanrootsand/or trueBantams. Thisfactmighttestifythattheindicatedchickengroupsoccupiedearlierstages intheevolutionfromthewildprogenitortothepresentbiodiversityofchickensintheworld.
