On the English teaching students the social and cultural abilities Abstract: ‘Vocational Education and English Teaching basic requirements’ (Trial) proposed the ‘skills-oriented, applied for the purpose of’ teaching requirements, highlighting students the practical application of language skills (also called ‘the social and cultural capacity’ ) importance. In this paper, the current social needs and characteristics of English teaching to explore how English teaching in the social and cultural capacity of students to achieve the language of communication services, for this purpose. In teaching, we often bring culture into two levels: that is, knowledge of cultural and communication culture. Cultural knowledge and cultural communication is usually more direct than the impact of cross-cultural communication and language in the culture inherent in the information. Of culture contained in these two levels of familiarity, master, and utilization is our ability to explore the social and cultural. After China’s accession to WTO, the community the number of foreign talents and levels presented a higher demand on the export-oriented industries, compound talents become increasingly urgent demands. English teaching as a vocational education and social needs of an important part of integration, more and more attention.
