Kafka, as the originator of modern literature, the profound thinking and exploring in his works wonderfully explained the connotation of Modernism. And as one of his representative works, The Metamorphosis is also the immortal classic in the modern literature history. I’ve ever seen a picture of Kafka. He’s handsome, but there are some unspeakable feelings in his big eyes. Despair? Much more than this. It might be a kind of distorted hopelessness. He was a giant created by a lifelong loneliness.
