China,) Abstract:In the Comprehensive Automation System for Coke Ovens (CASCO) system, the gas amount supplied to the coke oven battery is regulated by on-line calculation for heat consumption during carbonization and the temperature at the bottom of oven flue is continuously measured. By automatic measuring the amount of heating gas and O2 content in the flue gas, the reasonable combustion of heating gas can be ensured and by regulating the suction upstream the gas exhauster the gas collecting main for each coke oven battery can be comprehensively controlled. The system can also program the pushing and charging schedule automatically and control the actual pushing operation via the radio communication devices, in this case the heating control and the operation management can be integrated. One of the most important factors for the successful system is the specially developed and designed temperature measuring mode in which the prefabricated hole for temperature measurement is provided at the bottom of the oven proper and the radiant pyrometer which is specially developed for continuous measuring the temperature of flue bottom is used.
