Abstract: Thetraditional medicinalplant Clinacanthusnutans isusuall propagated b cuttingpropagation which
has low reproductive capacity. The development of rapid propagation methods for C. nutans is needed to satisf
humandemandforitsmedicinalproducts.Thisstud developedapraticaltissueculturemicropropagationtechnique
forC.nutansb shootinitiationinsteadofcallusinduction.Theresultsshowedtheoptimalproliferationmediumfor

C.nutanswasMurashigeandSkoog(MS)with 1.0mgL BA+0.02mgL NAAproviding3.9multiplicationrate.
