On　the　one　hand，　it　encourages　students　to　respect　their　parents.　Filial　piety　is　an　important　value　in　Chinese　tradition.　It　is　regarded　as　one　of　the　basic　qualities　a　person　should　have.　Nowadays，　however，　students　born　under　the　one?child　policy　are　becoming　more　self?centered.　Therefore，　this　requirement　can　arouse　students　awareness　of　being　considerate　to　parents，　helping　them　grow　into　persons　with　both　knowledge　and　moral　sense　in　the　future. On　the　other　hand，　its　hard　to　measure　how　much　respect　one　student　has　shown　to　his　or　her　parents.　Filial　piety　is　something　that　can　be　only　felt　in　heart，　not　some　deeds　written　down　as　lines　of　achievement.
