Methods　The magnetic resonance images of 7 patients w ith HE w ere analyze retrospectively.Results　MR images reveale specific lesions in H E,w hich was asymmetry an reversibe.There were isointense or hypoin- tense abnormalities on T 1-w eigh te images an hyperintense abnormalities on T2-weighte an iffusion- w eighte images in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, basal ganglia, the splenium of corpus callosum, an even the subcortical w hite matter, sparing the thalamus an cerebellum.DWI show e the areas of involvement at an earlier time better than conventional MRI, with the re uce apparent iffusion coefficient.M R spectroscopy re- veale no evi ence of abnormal lactate in the affecte cerebral cortex.Conclusions　M RI can show highly selec- tive lesions in H E, w hich are asymmetry an reversibe.DWI can be more sensitive than conventional M RI in etecting the lesions.Lesions of the basal ganglia an cerebral cortex are of ten w ith a poor outcome, an involv- ment in the splenium of corpus callosum may be w ith goo outcome. 【Key wo
