Cang The defect of red scale is frequently ob served on 0. 15wt% steel strip with silicon(Si) content more than 0.15 wt%, 96/0 196/02 this defect will be relieved by decreasing Si content. In CSC SL250Y January and February, 2007, a steel grade CSC SL250Y (Si 0 . 10wt %) for slide rail of automobile was produced by CSC No.1 HSM, red scale happened though Si content was as low as 0.10 wt%. 96/02 96/03 CSC Th is r ed scale st ill ex ist ed aft er th e st r ip went SL250Y through downstream processes of cold rolling, pickling and annealing, and resulted in huge product rej ection.
