Abstract A trial was performed to study the effects of different dietary protein levels on growth and production performance, breeding performance and so on in four different growth period of Huainan partridge chickens breeder, and then to study the appropriate level of dietary protein, which supply scientific theoretical basis for make an appropriate diet for Huainan partridge chickens breeder. Experiment 1: Effects of Crude Protein Level on growth Performance of Huainan Partridge Chicken Breeder during the Brood Incubation Period A trial was performed to study the effects of dietary protein levels on growth performance, body measurement and reproductive organs index of Huainan partridge chickens breeder during the brood incubation period. A total of 1350 health 2-week-old Huainan partridge chickens breeders with an average body weight were randomly allocated to 3 treatments. The experiment was pulled out in four stages through the age of 2-6, 7-11and 12-18weeks and the crude protein (CP) level was 16.0%, 18.0%, 20.0% and 13.5%, 15.0%, 16.5% and 13.0%, 14.0%, 15.0%, respectively. The results showed that chickens fed by 20.0%CP diet had significantly greater average weight than that of 18.0%CP and 16.0% group at the end of six week(P0.05). Shank length of 20.0% and 18.0%CP groups was significantly high than that of 16.0%CP group during the weeks of 3 to 5. Secondary sexual characteristics of each group had no significant difference, but wattle height of 14.0%CP group was significantly greater than that of 13.0%CP group (P0.05 )at the age of 15 weeks and comb length and thickness of 15.0%CP group was significantly greater than that of 13.0%CP group (P0.05 )at the age of 16 weeks. reproductive
