MoO / CeO -Al O catalysts were preparedbyimpregnationmethodwithaddingcitricacidintoCeO -Al O composite supportsand 3 2 2 3 2 2 3 tested for sulfur resistant methanation. The syngas methanation activity increased with the increase of citric acid additive amount, and COconversioncouldreachup60% whenthemolarratioofcitricacidtoCewas3. Thepreparedcatalystswerecharacterizedby BET,H -TPR,XRD andXPS. Theincreasedcatalyticperformancewasmainlyattributedtotheincreasedamount of Ce specieson2 the surface of catalysts which could decreased the interaction force between MoO and CeO -Al O supports.
