Objective To ex lore the feasibility of using autologous rabbit adi ose derived stem cells ( rASCs) for corneal stromal defect re airing with biodegradable olylacticcoglycolic acid ( PLGA) as scaffold. Methods ASCs isolated from rabbit li oas irate w ere cultured to assage 4 and seeded on PLGA to fabricate cellPLGA constructs. Scanning electron microsco e w as used to observe the adhesion and roliferation of cells on scaffold. After 1 week of cultivation invitro, the construct was im lanted into rabbit corneal stroma. The tissue engineered cornea w as observed and harvested for histological evaluation and transmission electron microsco y ( TEM) examination at 12 weeks and 24 week
