In recent years, it was recognized that lncRNAs are not only transcriptional noise, but have important cellular functions. lncRNA are implicated in gene regulation through a variety of mechanisms. Maternally expressed gene 3 (MEG3) encodes an lncRNA which was suggested to function as a tumor suppressor. MEG3 almost involved in the physiological and pathological process.
