Their species diversity and community structure affect the stability of the Antarctic ecosystem directly or indirectly. According to the domestic and international research data in these 30 years on the Antarctic diatom diversity and biogeography, it reviewed the advance in research on species composition and distribution of Antarctic marine planktonic diatoms, ice-associated Antarctic diatoms, Antarctic lake diatoms and marine epiphytic diatoms. It can provide a reference basis for the research on the diversity, molecular ecology, and development and utilization of biological geography of Antarctic diato
