W e app ly th e m ethod of T ruth V alue Judgm ent T ask throu ghout the test, w h ich w as developed in C rain and M cK ee (1985) and C rain and T horn ton (1998). B y u sing the statistical softw are SP SS and W in step s, w e assess w hether our data is norm ally d istributed and check w h eth er the w hole test has a h igh reliab ility and validity. T hen w e div ide our participants into d ifferent group s according to their age, and do som e com parative analyses am ong age group s and different sentence structures. T he subjects are 125 preschoo l ch ildren from Sh enyang, L iaon ing P rov ince an d the range of age is from 2 ;9 to 7 ;1, (w ith a m ean age of 4 ;6 ). T h ey are div ided into three age groups. T he adu lt group includes 63 sophom ores from T ianjin N orm al U n iv ersity. W e h ave classified all th e 23 test item s into tw o broad classes :N eg-U Q N P and N eg-U Q N P-E Q N P, each b eing further d ivided into tw o sub classes as fo llo w s.
