Fig. 2.1 influence of aluminum powder content on Microstructure of carburized layer. Figure 1 is the surface morphology of infiltrated layer after infiltration of 1~4. When the No. 1 penetrant is used, the surface of the layer is relatively flat and dense, with no obvious voids (Figure 1 (a)). The EDS of the A zone on the surface of the infiltrated layer shows that the surface of the carburized layer mainly contains elements Ni and Cr. At the same time, contains lower concentrations of Al, O elements. This is due to the use of argon in the process of washing the furnace before the infiltration process. It is inevitable to maintain a partial pressure of oxygen in the furnace and react with metal in the process of heating to form oxides. Compared with figure 1 (a), the surface size of the infiltrated layer decreases with the use of No. 2 penetrant. EDS shows that the atomic concentration of Cr and Al elements increases on the surface of the nitrided layer, as shown in table 1. With the No. 3 penetrating agent, the surface of the infiltrated layer is rough, and the scattered white particles are scattered. The voids in the surface of the layer appear larger (Figure 1 (c)). EDS shows that the concentration of Cr atom reaches 28.97% (atomic fraction, the same below), and the concentration of Al atom is 42. 68%. With the No. 4 penetrating agent, the surface of the infiltrated layer is fine and there is no obvious cavity (Figure 1 (d)). EDS shows that the surface of the percolation layer mainly contains elements Al and Ni, in which the atomic concentration of Al is as high as 56.09%, the concentration of Ni is 42.50%, and the atomic concentration of element Cr is very low, which is 0.9%.
