自动化专业英语教程翻译3.3(Automation English course translation 3.3) A PLC overview The automation of many different process control systems, such as the control of production machinery or the production line of a factory, is accomplished by a minicomputer called a programmable logic controller (PLC). In 1968, General Motors pioneered PLC and applied it to the automotive industry, and developed the first PLC project using an electronic controller instead of a hard wired relay system. With the emergence of PLC, the centralization of plant process control, especially in the automotive industry, has been greatly improved. PLC architecture PLC is a diskless compact computer that contains all the software and hardware necessary for process control. They are commonly used for automatic control applications (such as closed loop control), which can exist independently, and can also be connected to distributed I/O, other PLC or monitoring computers. These connections are built via fieldbus, such as WorldFIP, PROFIBUS, or Ethernet. Typical PLC contains: Power Supply Program running CPU Input / output module Optional communication module Many electrical interfaces can be supported with the IO module: The simulation module (+ / - 10V + / - 1V, 4-20mA, resistance, etc.) Temperature measurements (PT100, Ni, 100, etc.) The digital module (220V + / - 24V, etc.) TTL module (Beckhoff, I/O module, etc.) RS 232 module Other These modules can be connected to the internal bus of the PLC, and can also be connected through the bus connector and the field bus unit (such as PROFIBUS, WorldFIP, or, CAN), and share the bus on other PLC. The users hardware is hard to connect directly to the PLC internal bus. The solution is to integrate user hardware using standard interface cards (such as HMSs AnyBus card) as standard fieldbus interfaces (such as PROFIBUS, CAN, and, WorldFIP). Now, PLC provides Ethernet based communications. Although based on TCP/IP and IEEE 802.2, each vendors PLC protocol is different.
