Abstract:NonlinearopticalabsorptionandrefractioncoeÆcientsofC60-containingpolyurethane-urea
ms
aremeasuredbyusingtheZ-scantechnique.Theopticallimitingpropertiesarealsostudied.Theexperiments
showthatthetransmittancedecreasedfrom70%to10%andthetransmittedenergyislimitedtolessthan25

mJ/cm.TherequiredtransmittanceandtransmittedenergycanbealteredwithchangingtheC60contents
inpolymers.Basedon velevelsofC60,wesuggestthatthenonlinearitiesandopticallimitingbehaviorare
consistentwithexcited-stateabsorption(reversesaturableabsorption)asamechanism.
