However, in order to improve studentsrsquo; English performance, a lot of teachers only focus on teaching students the basic knowledge, such as English words, grammar and sentence patterns, etc., without the corresponding education of cultural background. However, the differences between Chinese and English cultural backgrounds directly determine the success of English teaching and easily make students meet obstacles in the cross-cultural communication. In view of this, this paper makes an analysis of the cultural differences and their impacts on English teaching in senior middle schools and puts forward some corresponding strategies to improve senior middle school English teaching.
